Victoria’s Dance Party 4oth Birthday on Pacific Yacht Charters Vancouver

Can you think of a better way to celebrate your birthday than to dance in the sunshine on a yacht sailing through səl̓ilw̓ət (Burrard Inlet) with 25 of your closest friends? Me neither. In July I had the amazing opportunity to DJ one such party through my work with Airwaves Music.

Victoria’s friend Caitlyn had conspired with Victoria’s husband Mark to plan the entire party without Victoria’s knowledge. When she arrived at the boat she was totally surprised and she and her friends had the best time cruising the afternoon away, enjoying the amazing food aboard the yacht, and dancing in the sunshine.

For me, it was one of those days that I felt incredibly lucky to do what I do, and so thankful to Airwaves for hooking me up with an amazing gig like this one. Since we were cruising for about 5 hours, we got to cover a lot of ground musically, from oldies and classic rock to hip hop and R&B. Victoria’s favourite musician is Billy Joel, so we had a few sweet singalongs to his classic tunes too.

I have to give a big shout out to Pacific Yacht Charters as well. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious.

And if my husband’s reading this… now you know what to do for my next birthday party! 😉
